Banks and ATMs
There are ATMS locatedat BNI-46andMandiri Banks in the Business centre adjacent to the university on the south side of campus 1. Cashing travelers cheques and changing foreign currency students can be done at the many banks and money changers at Pondok Indah Mall. The money changers provide better rates.
Medical Centre
UIN Jakarta has its own Medical centre, Hospital Syahida on Jalan Juanda opposite the university. Hospital is Fatmawati on Jalan Cilandak in Cilandak. For international Medical needs there is Global Doctor, 87 jl. Kemang Raya in Kemang or Globe Medical clinic in Kayoran baru, and are quite expensive.
Computer Shops
There are two main computer shops close to UIN campus 1: Uhui computer and JSP Computer. Poins square, about 4 kilometers north of UIN has a large range of computer shops on level 3. Shop around for what you want as prices and services can vary.
Postal Sevices/Offices
here are two post offices located within a 200 meter radius of the University campus 1. the closest is at Kampung Utan to the north of the campus. There is another on Jalan Juanda opposite the university.
Food and Eating
There is a very large range of eating establishments for students and locals to buy and eat food around the Ciputat area, from cheap Rp 5000-15000 meals, to more expensive western fast food and fine dining restaurants. Along Jl Jalan Pesanggrahan there are a number of Kaki lima food carts and stalls, which make a range of dishes from Gadoa-Gado to Bakso. There is also a Padang restaurant and other warungs in this area, or you can head to Jalan Juanda for Ayam Penyet, Gado Gado and Padang food. For more expensive states, KFC is located about 500 meters north on Jalan Juanda, and Pizza Hut a little further than that. Poins square has a range of food eateries, including the Indonesian Food chain Es Teler 77, two very good cafes that sell cappuccino, a Dunkin Donuts, and Hokka Hokka Bentu. There are two very good open air food court eating areas north of UIN along Jn Juanda that open after 5. Elfour and Obong are also two restaurants north of UIN that also sell steaks and other western or Indonesian food from Rp. 20.000 +
Student Center
Student Centre is on Campus 1. This Offers a range of sporting, cultural and academic extra-curricular activities such as a footsal field (indoor soccer), choir, scout, red cross, theatre, martial arts, indoor mountain climbing, outdoor adventuring like hiking, student regiment and musical activities
Supermarkets
There are a range of stores for general items that can be found around campus and its surrounds, with larger supermarkets found in the wider area and malls. The university have a range of UIN marts, in the lecturer and staff housing, behind campus at Kampung Utan and in front of UIN beside the mosque. There are also other independent marts like INodo Maret, on Jalan Juanda north and south of the university. There are two larger Giant supermarkets, one on Jl Juanda/Ciputat Raya about 1 km north of UIN, and another at Poins Square about 4 km north of UIN. Carrefour is also another large hyper/supermarket located opposite Poins square. Lotte Mart is a bulk supermarket also located less than 1km north of UIN, just off the main road, close to Pizza hut.
Housing & Dormitory
Student Dormitory UIN Jakarta has a student dormitory located on UIN Jakarta grounds allowing ease of access to the Universities academic and recreational facilities, as well as the many facilities and amenities located in the grater Ciputat area. The student dorm has a capacity for 264 men and 350 women. Student facilities include bedroom, shared bathroom, mattress, pillow, washing room for clothes, clothesline, desk for study and mirror. General facilities for all inhabitants include a study room, lobby, musholla, kitchen, gas stove, car park, sports area and 24 hours security. For the improvement of these facilities’ quality there is also a caretaker.
There are several conditions needed to be accepted to live in the dormitory:
· New university students must have already finished entrance exams.
· Fill the registration form
· Make a copy of entering examination card
· Photo 3x4 @ 3 piece
· Letter of statement declaring you are not married yet and have parents’ consent
· Fill the statement form that you are able to obey the rules of the dormitory.
· You have passed your interview
· pay a dormitory deposit

Short terms Hotel accommodation
Short term Hotel accommodation is available on campus 2 at Wisma Syahida. This is a hotel designed for international visitors and conference events and seminars etc. and may be an option for any short term visitors from home or for yourself while you settle in. Rates vary according to facilities and size, and, at the time of printing this booklet, start at Rp 180,000 per night.
