The Faculty now have approximately 6,000 students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and professional-for-teacher development programs. The Faculty has nine departments and the School of Teaching-skill Development. In addition, the Faculty has a number of research centers, several of those are interdisciplinary in nature.
Similar to other Faculties of Education in Indonesia, the Faculty of Education and Teaching Mastership at UIN has taken a leading role in the initial training of teachers and leaders in education-allied occupation. It also concerns with constructing knowledge through research and scholarship and with providing teaching-skill development services to the wider educational community, especially for teachers in remote areas of Indonesia.
In recent years, the Faculty has initiated a number of collaboration with the government. For example, the Faculty working with similar institutions from other provinces formulates the curriculum for civic education. Currently, there are some projects that have been undertaken, some of which involve students as well as lecturers, include those in Jakarta, Bogor, Lampung and Cirebon.
